We plan to use the TPS61165TDBVRQ1. We have reviewed the reference designs for both the automotive qualified part as well as the standard part.

We have a question about the reference design for the parts listed in the two different data sheets (on page 1).
The reference design for the automotive grade part includes components R1, C4, and D2 on the VIN. These components are not in the reference design for the standard part, where there is a straight trace connection to VIN.
Please advise with regards to the reason for this difference in the reference designs.
