BQ24170: Won't charge battery pack with supply above 8v.

Hello,

I am designing a system that uses the BQ24170RG charger chip.

I purchased the evaluation board and modified it to work as in the enclosed the schematic.

When I connect our battery pack it will only change if the power supply is 8v or lower. As soon as the power supply voltage goes above 8v the status LED on the eval board Charge Schematic.pdfflashes and no charging will happen.  I can see the battery detection pulse firing every second or so but the charge will never start until the input voltage goes below 8v.

Any ideas?
