BQ25101: Current consumption detection

Part Number: BQ25101

Hi everyone,

I have a product design with BQ25101 battery charge IC. My question is:

How can BQ20101 detect the current consumption when the output consumption changing ?

Does it turn off the charging feature when the output current consumption varying ?

Thanks,

  • The bq25101 has Deglitch times for transitions between modes to reduce issue with changes in current. The changes in current are typically caused by the system load connected in parallel with battery.
One example would be "Deglitch time, termination detected" of 29ms. The output current must remain below the termination level for 29ms before charge complete is set. This could be a problem if the system is generating a load pulse greater than termination current at a rate less than 29mS.
