BQ25570: Recommended IC for solar harvesting system powered by a Lithium battery

Part Number: BQ25570
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25504

Hello,

I’m working on a project in which energy from three solar cells (each cell generates 0.5V, 30mA) as well as thermal energy generator is used to charge a rechargeable 3.7V Li-Ion battery. In addition, there will be a load that needs a regulated 3V input (up to 100mA). I have a circuit which combines the two sources (solar cells and the thermal energy). The total voltage for all these does not exceed 2V.

I went over the datasheets for the two ICs bq25570 and bq25504 and also the question asked by David; it seems to me that bq25570 is suitable for this project. The output from the energy harvesters will be connected to VIN_DC pin and the load will be connected to the VOUT pin. I was wondering if I'm in the right direction regarding the choice of the IC.

Any additional comment is also appreciated!

Regards,

Vahid
