TPS92518: wrong output signal

Genius 12760 points
Part Number: TPS92518

Customer gets strange output signal for TPS92512-Q1:

After the second access the TPS doesn`t get to tri-state as its output is always active low(0), otherwise the pullup would force a high signal.

Additionally he found that after the first write command(reset) der TPS answers with an SPI error.

For clarification please see following measurements :

Channel 1 (yellow) = clock

Channel 2 (blue) = SPI select signal

Channel 3 (magenta) = SPI input

Channel 4 (green) = SPI output

TEK00006 : Measurement of the first two accesses after power-on reset

TEK00007 : Zoom of the first access

TEK00008 : Zoom of the second access

TEK00003 : Measurement of the third and fourth access

TEK00004 : Zoom of the third access

TEK00005 : Zoom of the fourth access

Is there any explanation for that?

Regards, Bernd

  • i) Can you explain further? I'm sorry that I don't understand what you are asking:  "....After the second access the TPS doesn`t get to tri-state as its output is always active low(0), otherwise the pullup would force a high signal."    Are you trying to enable an output and it is not working?

ii)SPI error after power up:   yes, this is normal operation.  Clear the bit as part of your power-up/initializing routine.
