LMR14050: Looking for a part similar to XR76205

Part Number: LMR14050
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMS3655, LM73605,

Hi there,

Do we have any device (or any roadmap devices) similar to XR76205?

It has to be a converter with synchronous rectification.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Roy Hsu

  • Hi

LMS3655 or LM73605 is 5A synchronous buck converter. pls check data sheet on TI website and let us know if any more question.

  • Hi Andy,

I actually suggested LM73605 to my customer but the price gap is pretty huge between us and Exar...

But I reckon these are the only two solutions that are suitable for their requirement.

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Roy Hsu
  • Hi Roy,

What's application Vin/Vout? if duty cycle>40% and Vout>=5V, LMR14050 may has similar conversion efficiency compared with Sync converter.
  • Hi Andy,

The operating conditions are shown below: (they are good with using 2 buck converters)

    (1)Vin : 9-36V / Vout = 5V / Iout = 5A

    (2)Vin : 9-36V / Vout = 3.3V / Iout = 5A

Under these conditions, will the efficiency of LMR14050 still be comparable to LM73605?

    Thanks!

    Best regards,
    Roy Hsu
  • Roy,

I check data sheet and below eff data for your reference:

    Vin : 12V / Vout = 5V / Iout = 5A

    LMR14050 eff=88% LM73605 eff=92%

    Vin : 12V / Vout = 3.3V / Iout = 5A

    LMR14050 eff=83% LM73605 eff=90%

high perfromance LM73605 has better conversion eff than LMR14050 which is more cost-effective.
