LMR14203: typical accuracy of design

Part Number: LMR14203

Hi,

my customer is using LMR14203 in following configuration:

Vin: 24V

Vout: 5V

Iout: 0 to 0.3A

When doing a simulation in Webench a accuracy is given of 4.11% without load and when looking into the worst case date it shows up a 5% accuracy.

What are the typ expect accuracy in a LMR14203 design ?

Best wishes,

Olrik

  • Hi Olrik,

I believe this is based on no load tolerance. The reason being is that at no load, the part will operate in Pulse Frequency mode, where the frequency of the part is not fixed. This is done in order to save Iq. The drawback of this is that the output peak to peak ripple will be higher at no load. When the part operates in CCM mode, I believe the output tolerance should be better and it depends on the tolerance of your feedback divider as well as the FB pin tolerance.

    Thanks
