I followed the typical application schematic in the data sheet. The output is good. When I put a resistive load on it, it outputs 5V DC 1.5A continuously, no issue. When I connect it to an iPhone to charge, the iPhone will seldom start charging (I say seldom because sometimes it does start). If I hook a un-powered USB hub (with 4 outputs and switches to connect/disconnect each) in-between the boost converter and the iPhone, the phone charges fine.
I was thinking that it may be the speed that the connection is taking place, since it works when there is a push button switch in-between or it may be the output capacitor sizing.
The phone only needs about 0.8A to charge (when it does start). Please point me in the right direction.
