UCC28C45: UCC28C45 Dual-switch with synchronous rectifier

Part Number: UCC28C45
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC24610, UCC24630, UCC24636

Hi team,

My customer is using UCC28C45 to develop dual-switch with synchronous rectifier. Now they are using IR1167 to drive the synchronous rectifier. Do we have solution to replace IR1167?

regards,

Yangbo

  • Hello Yangbo,

TI has some options to choose from, each with advantages and tradeoffs, depending on the details of the application.
Since IR1167 is a Vds-sensing SR controller, either the UCC24612-2 or the UCC24610 have similar operation. The UCC24610 has a Vds limitation of 50 V peak, however. Both support CCM, DCM and QR.

Two other SR controllers are UCC24630 and UCC24636, which are based on Volt-second balancing. The UCC24630 is suited for CCM operation, if that is part of the application. Both support DCM and QR operation.

    Regards,
