TLC59116: Using TLC59116 to replace TLC59116F

Hi expert,

My customer want to know if we can use TLC59116 to replace TLC59116F. As I know, TLC59116F is a on/off part and need external resistor. And for Rext pin of TLC59116, if this pin could be floating since TLC59116F didn't have Rext pin. Thanks!!

    Hi, Ann,

    You can't leave the Rext floating, as you can see from datasheet for this pin function:
    "Input terminal used to connect an external resistor for setting up all output currents".

    So you need to connect a resistor to set the output current.
