TL494: "Dead-Time Control" of the TL494.

Hi,

I am using TL 494 for the generating the SPWM signals used in the Grid Tie inverter Circuit for the Academic project purpose.

Can you please help me with understanding the term DTC and its use.

And if possible, please recommend a tutorial for using TL494.

Hi Vatsal,

The dead-time is the time gap between the two outputs when operating at maximum duty cycle. This prevents overlap between the gate drive signals and eliminates the risk of short circuit across the input in half bridge circuits from both devices been on at the same instance.
