Hello,

Is it possible to realize a manual dimming, say via a potentiometer as Riset? Or maybe there is another way. Thanks in advanced.

Hello Damir,
We should be able to achieve coarse manual dimming by using a potentiometer as Riset but let me confirm that in the lab and I will give you a more definitive answer by tomorrow.

Hello Damir,

I did confirm that Riset input is continuously monitored (not just at power up) so a potentiometer can be used to successively dim the LED strings manually. Having said that, obviously, this is a not a normal way to operate LP8863 and you will lose a lot of the advanced features such as local dimming.

Thank you very much Liaqat! This is exactly what we are looking for. I know about all advantages of this impressive IC and we will do use them in our designs, however, for a one particular application we need a manual dimming.
