TPS40055: G4 version of TPS40055

Can you tell me what the "G4" suffix means for TPS40055? In the datasheet, it's not clear what the difference is between:

TPS40055PWPR

TPS40055PWPRG4

Darren,

G4 is used to specify it's lead-free and "green", but since our parts are all lead-free and green now, there's no difference. We keep the G4 designation because people are still ordering it as G4 and we don't want to change the part number and confuse people.

Ha! I promise I did search e2e, but I guess I should have left off the part number. I'll close the thread. I'm curious why this isn't noted in our datasheets.

Datasheets are a balance of, "what's too much and what's too little information." It looks like it might be worth leaving out if it's only yielded 5 E2E's over the years. Still, conveying the right amount information at the right time in the right place is always a challenge.
