TPS22918: Why the pin of ON is always keeping low?

Dears:

Pls. kindly help to check the below schematic, and we let the TPS22918's on pin to connect GND signal for a moment, then disconnect GND signal for testing the performance.

And the pin of ON is always keeping low after the test.

And I find the Von can be -0.3V, why the pin of ON is always keeping low?

Pls. kindly help us!

Hi Luck,

The TPS22918 does not have any pull up or pull down circuitry integrated into the ON pin. If the pin is left floating, then we do not guarantee high or low operation. From what you mentioned, you pulled the ON pin low to GND and left it floating. In this case, it is likely that the device will remain off, as you have observed. The ratings in the datasheet are the minimum and maximum ratings for the pin, not the voltage output expected.

Hi Luck,

The TPS22917 device has a smart ON pulldown resistance integrated into the ON pin of the device. You can read more about this feature in 8.3.1 of the datasheet.
