BQ25882: Changing the default state of REG00 and REG01

Part Number: BQ25882

Hi Team,

Since BQ25882 is an I2C-configurable device, we need to program the device in order to modify the registers.

However, in my customer's application, there'll be some time when the SoC is not operating (thus not able to program the device).

Therefore, we'd like to know if there's any way to change the default setting of REG00 and REG01 so that the settings could match their requirement without configuring the device via I2C?

Thanks!

Best regards,

Roy Hsu

  • Hi Roy,

Changing the defaults for those registers requires a spin of the IC.  I am curious as to the new settings that your customer needs. There may be a workaround for current.  For example, if lower charge current is needed, the ILIM pin can used to clamp the input current lower than the default setting, which reduces total output current = system + charge current.  Can you email or private message me the customer end application, volume, MP date and new settings?

  • What's your email address?

    Thanks!
