BQ34Z100-G1: How to generate alert signal for indication of battery charging in BQ34z100-g1?

Hi,

I want to generate alert signal when there is a charging or discharging activity on battery. For detecting discharging , DSG bit has to be set and it will generate alert when discharge current is more then threshold current. I got it working for discharge part. How to generate alert signal to detect charging state?

Hi Sai,

sorry for the long delay. In general for CHG, unlike DSG, there is no way to see if the device is CHG. Unless you set the CHG flag in Alert conifuration Register to generate an Alert, and this means the device allows charging, and then you poll the I2C line to find out the status of the Current() command to find out the flow of current. This is a very manual way but there is simply no way to have an interrupt like DSG has it to know if device is CHG.
