BQ25898: disable TS function

Part Number: BQ25898

Hi,

Default temperature profile setting for BQ25898 follows JEITA guideline.

However, may I know if we can disable this feature.

For example, to charge battery by 2A for 0~45˚C, do we need to set ICHG to 4A when 0 ~ 10 ˚C ?

Or how can we implement always charge 2A to battery in 0~45˚C duration.

Best regards,

Randy Chen

  • Hi Randy,

Unfortunately, you cannot disable this feature in I2C. However, you can change the default setting from 20% of ICHRG to 50% using REG07 bit 0 and then increase the charge current as you mention. If you do this, I recommend that the processor constantly monitor the TS fault registers and be ready to change back to ICHRG=2A when the temperature rises.
