BQ27742-G1: Two parallel cells 18650

Part Number: BQ27742-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello.

We use BQ27742 for one cell 18650. We determined its chemID (0297) and performed  the learning cycle.
But now we plan to use two parallel cells 18650 on the same BQ27742 chip and there were questions for getting a new golden file.

- What should I change in the settings of the golden image? Do I need to do the new learning cycle for two parallel cells?
- Can I use the chemID for a double cell the same as for a single cell? Or is it better to repeat the procedure for obtaining the new chemID?

At the moment, in the BQStudio settings I changed only the Design Capacity and Qmax Cell 0. Is it enough?

  • hi
    - I would recommend you perform a new learning cycle. Alternatively, you can double the qmax, design capacity and divide the resistance table values by 2 ( i would not recommend this approach as you could make errors.
-No you do not need a new chem id.
    thanks
