TINA/Spice/LM5035: What software can be used to open the simulation case model inside the LM5035 PSPICE Model?

I want to use the LM5035 chip as a half-bridge DCDC power supply
I downloaded the LM5035 PSPICE Model on the official website
But I don't know which simulation software can open this LM5035 simulation case model

I tried TINA-TI, but I couldn't open the simulation circuit inside LM5035 PSPICE Model .
Did I not use TINA-TI correctly or did I need other simulation software to open the LM5035 circuit model?

There is an apps note on importing a SPICE netlist and creating a macro model in TINA which may help, www.ti.com/.../slva527.pdf

Hello,

The model was developed in PSpice and was intended to be used in Cadence PSpice. This is a paid software that you will need to get from Cadence if you don't already have one available.

However the model is unencrypted, which means you can import it into any PSpice compatible tool of your choice (including TINA-TI , Peter has already provided the process for that and you can also refer to the short video training series in the link below). This takes care of syntax issues in the target simulator. After this you may encounter convergence issues in your simulator. You will need to be familiar with your target simulator to resolve these convergence issues.

Hello, I imported the LM5035 model separately in cadence and simetrix software.

I found that there is a difference between the two models.

The model in cadence has GND, but there is no GND in simetrix. as the picture shows.

How is this going? Is the LM5035 model in simetrix normal?

Hi,

The model in PSpice does not have the GND pin. What you see in PSpice is a representation of the GND pin on the symbol. It is used to show that GND is connected to node 0 (0V) inside the model. Since it is hard coded, the pin has not been brought out, hence when you import it into SIMetrix, you do not see the pin. You can assume the pin to be connected to 0V inside the model in SIMetrix for your analysis.

I am sorry for the confusion. This is one of the older models and one that we acquired from TI's acquisition of National Semi. We do not use this convention for majority of our models so I can see how that can be confusing.

In other words, the LM5035 model without GND in SIMetrix is correct and it can be used normally, right?

Yes, that is correct as long as the GND pin is at the lowest potential in the circuit.
