VAUX4, VPLL, VMMC LDO drop out - can it work from 3.3V where the drop out is spec from 250mV?

Hi,

my customer is design IN the TPS65930.

HE would like to use as Vin 3.3V .

however , we notice that VPLL2/1 and VMMC1/2 and VAUX4 require 3.15V where the drop out of the LDO is 250mV at the maximum current.

does these units required the maximum current? if yes , we have a drop out issue, if not, new drop out need to be calculate

in order to check if a drop out of 150mV is OK.

could you tell if Vin of 3.3V is OK when working with these units?

Hi,

The dropout for all LDOs is 250mV. Using 3.3V for Vin (VBAT) is not a problem. We have many customers who have used that level for VBAT and have no issues.

It would be true that you will not be able to get the maximum possible voltage settings with VBAT=3.3V. Your current/load will depend on the application and the max. load will always be possible in the ON mode for the LDO.

I do not see any problem using 3.3V for VBAT. Let me know if you have any concerns.

Hi,

Normally no devices will be using 3.15V correct. If someone wants 3.15V output with Iout =max then only there will be problem with 3.3V input of PMIC. otherwise i dont think there will be some problem.
