AM5728 EVM with TPS6590376 generating 2.5V and 1.0V for DP83867

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5728

Dear Team,

The AM5728 EVM (www.ti.com/.../tmdsevm572x) uses the TPS6590376 as PMIC device. Two of the switcher outputs are not used: SMPS7 and SMPS9. I would like to use these two DC/DC outputs to generate 2.5V and 1.0V for two DP83867 Ethernet PHYs.

In total I need the following budged.

2.5V: 274 mA

1.0V: 216 mA

I would like to get your feedback on the feasibility of this approach.

Thanks,

 Thomas

  • Thomas,

You can use the rails at these voltages/loads if you wish. Note that these two rails are not included in the power up sequence so you would have to turn these on with software after the power sequence is complete. (This includes a write for the voltage level and then a write to enable the rail for each rail)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Nastasha
