Hi,

I have a similar problem as .

That thread wasn't answered.
The only difference is that I use BQ40Z50-R1. Once BTP_INT is set, it can be cleared only by device reset, which is unacceptable for me.
I have updated the firmware to bq40z50_r1_ v1.06_build_36, but the problem persisted.
Is there any way to get this feature working right (i.e. set when the remaining capacity has depleted to a certain level, and clear when it is above this level)?

Can you provide a .gg file for your device so I can see your settings to see what may be prohibiting the pin from being deasserted?

The settings look correct for what you want to do. Please send a log where you fall below the BTP Init Discharge threshold and BTP_INT is set, and then rise above the BTP_Init Discharge threshold, showing that BTP_INT is not cleared.

Sorry for such a long delay, I've been away from the office for a week.

Here's the log file. BTP Discharge Set is 150 mAh.

Hello, sorry for the delay. It is clear that the BTP_INT is not cleared when the RemCap threshold is met. I am still looking into this. In the meantime, have you tried to write BTPDischargeSet() or BTPChargeSet() to clear BTP_INT?

Hello

I see the issue in the .gg file for the operation you want. Try setting the InitChargeSet to 25mAh above the InitDischargeSet value. In your case, this would be 175mAh for InitChargeSet. This acts as a hysteresis, and BTP_INT will set when the RemCap falls below your InitDischargeSet value of 150mAh during discharge, and it will clear when RemCap rises above the InitChargeSet value of 175mAh during charge.

Sorry, but these measures haven't resolved the problem.

That is what I did:

-set InitDischargeSet a bit lower than my current RemCap, and InitChargeSet 25 mAh above InitDischargeSet.

-applied Reset (just to make sure these values have been applied).

-connected the load and waited until RemCap had dropped bellow InitDischargeSet and BTP_INT had been set.

-disconnected the load, connected the charger.

-BTP_INT still doesn't clear even after RemCap exceeds InitChargeSet Value.

Moreover, if RemCap is between InitChargeSet and InitDischargeSet, so BTP_INT is cleared (after reset), and the charger is applied, BTP_INT sets when RemCap exceeds InitChargeSet. Although, it is exactly what it should do according to the TRM:

OperationStatus()[BTP_INT] is set when:

– Current > 0 and RemCap > “clear” threshold (“charge set threshold”). This threshold is initialized at reset from Settings.BTP.InitChargeSet.

– Current≤0 and RemCap< “set” threshold (“discharge set threshold”). This threshold is initialized at reset from Settings.BTP.Init DischargeSet.

I didn't want BTP_INT to set during charge, thus I programmed InitChargeSet to unreachable value.

Thanks for the detail. I have looked into this further, and the function does not work as you would like it to. I have brought this to the attention of our developers and it will be addressed in a future update. In the meantime, I think the best is to set it so that it will send an INT for charge, and you will have to ignore that. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am going to close the issue for now.
