UCC28070: UCC28070 Max VCC rating Question

Part Number: UCC28070

Hi Support Team,

My customer has a question regarding the maximum VCC rating of UCC28070. The datasheet specified the abs. VCC rating is 22V, but the Vcc(shunt) can go upto 23~27V.

Could you please let us know what is the actual maximum VCC rating for UCC28070?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Wei-Hao

  • Hello Wei-Hao,

The "Vcc(shunt) voltage" refers to a zener protective clamp on the input to the VCC pin.
This voltage may clamp at anywhere between 23V and 27V. It is there for protective features only and the operating  value of  VCC is always much less than this value.

The "absolute maximum ratings" table refer to the maximum possible operating value of the parameters referred to in this table.

So for example VCC can be operated at a value up to 22V  if so desired.
This voltage is lower than the clamp protective level

There is also a "recommended operating conditions" table and this recommended  a VCC at a voltage between VUVLO+1 and 21V.

Most designs use a VCC of 12V to 15V.

    Regards

    John
