Parallel LED driver for more LED.

Hi,

Does TI has a solution for parallel single ouput LED driver? For example, I have a 24V/2A LED driver and  to be a module, when I parallel two or three or more....I can get large than 2A LED driver, maybe a 4A, 6A...etc., and it still a single output.

  • Dear Cheyi,
I don't know what you mean. Could you provide more describe about this application?

  • Dear Fawn,
I will use a one input power to supply parallel led driver, my design is for easy to issue order, reduce time of develop product and return RMA fast. The LED drive to be a module, I can easy to get large LED driver via swap. Do you have recomend solution or theory for this application ?
  • Hi, Che Yi,

As I understand, you want to use several LED drivers as one to increase the output current capability.

Usually, if you connect the signal input pins together and send the same code, the led drivers can be used in parallel.

Would you provide more specific requirements so that we can check whether we have proper solutions?

    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Kenneth
  • Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for your reply, we only have a ruffle spec that vin is 24~26Vdc, Tamb(max)=45C and need support 8pcs LED(24Vdc/2A*8) drivers to parallel. It use the same PWM signal and protection is T.B.D.
