UCC28881: How to increase UCC28881 output current?

Part Number: UCC28881
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP9087

Hi,

I want to make a simple non-isolated buck converter circuit with UCC28881.

But UCC28881 output current(0.225A) is too small.

How to increase UCC28881 output current?

Is it possible that darlington circuit (with internal mosfet and external mosfet) increase UCC28881 output current?

Thanks.

  • Dear Jaehwan,

Thanks for interested in TI's solution.
In TI's portfolio, flyback controller with built in MOSFET didn't support high power.
What is the output power, voltage, current in your design?
You can also provide more spec detail, I can help you to search the suitable design.

I will suggest you use other controller instead of MOSFET already built in the IC.
Here is a good example for your design, PMP9087.

Or you have any reason, so you will prefer UCC28881?

    Best Regards
