For my research, I'm working on Bio Battery (Microbial Fuel Cell). I need to store the energy from my battery by energy harvester.

1. What kind of energy harvester (BQ 25504 EVM-674 or BQ 25570) I need to buy?

2. The minimum input voltage (cold start voltage) should be less than 0.35 V.

Hello,
You could use either one, note that the BQ25504 EVM-674 is the EVM, and BQ25570 is the charger IC, the EVM comes with the charger IC in-built.
Also, BQ25570 has a buck converter integrated on top of boost converter, which is also in BQ25504.

2. If I buy BQ 25504 EVM as energy harvester to charge the battery, do I need to buy any other IC?

3. If anyone buy BQ 25570 EVM, does he need to buy BQ 25570 IC too?

Hello Zunnun,

1. No, the BQ25504 EVM is different than BQ25570 EVM, they're different IC's

2. If you buy BQ 25504 EVM, you wouldn't need any other IC for charging.

3. The BQ25570 IC is built onto the BQ25570 EVM. So, if you buy BQ25570 EVM, you don't need to buy BQ25570 IC.

Hello Patel,

I want to charge a 3.2V Li-ion battery by my Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) using energy harvester (BQ 25504 EVM-674). Across 200 ohm, the voltage is 0.448 V but when my connection is in Energy harvester after resistance, voltage goes down to 0.305 V (arrow marked). I think, definitely there is input resistance.

1. Can you please tell me what's the input resistance of energy harvester in the arrow side as I marked?

2. In the energy harvester input side, voltage should be 0.33V at least. It's the cold start voltage. Otherwise, It will not work. Right?
