My customer need to pass BCI test. They want to know the required minimum input capacitance for TPS57040-Q1 for BCI.
Do they need an input filter for BCI test? How to design it?

I am not very familiar with BCI test . As far as i understand it BCI testing is an immunity test defined by ISO 11452-4 where noise is coupled onto a wire harness using a current injection probe. The amplitude at each frequency point is increased until there is a failure or the required level has been reached. To pass this immunity test the module has to continue to operate normally at all test frequencies for amplitudes greater than or equal to the limit line.
For this you will need to install a LC filter to filter out HF .
Here is one TI design where BCI test was done on similar device ie TPS57140 .
The design was using below Filter in the application :
