TPS23750: 12V/6W Reference Design

Hi,

We got a question from the customer about TPS23750.
Could you help us?

Is there the reference design which meets under the following condition?

 Vout=12V
 Iout=0.5A
 Topology=isolated Flyback

    Tateo-San, The following two TI designs, available online, are close to your requirements.

    12V@0.4A, Isolated Flyback = http://www.ti.com/tool/PMP464
    2V@0.6A, Isolated Flyback = http://www.ti.com/tool/PMP5595

    Both are older reference designs and utilize the TPS23753 PoE PD controller. Please be aware that the reference designs are still good starting points but we would recommend the TPS23753A over the TPS23753. The 'A' revision features improvements for uninterrupted device operation through an ESD event.

    I will also check with our Design Services team to see if a different design (not available on line) is suggested for review. If I should find something, we can discuss it offline. May I contact you offline should I find something worth sharing?

    And I am also checking for anything that specifically utilizes the TPS23750 controller. We do not have anything close enough to your requirements online. The closest we have is the 12V@0.95A non-isolated Buck topology (www.ti.com/.../PMP4679).

    Hi, Thank you for your support. I'll suggest PMP4648 with TPS23753A for the customer. If we need the design by TPS23750, I'll let you know.

    Tateo-San,

    I think that is best - especially if total system cost is a big concern for the customer (TPS23753A is lower in price than TPS23750).  However, if they have already qualified the TPS23750 and want to stay with that device, I have found a TPS23750-based design with a 12V/0.6A output.  The only unusual thing about the design is the use of a 200V primary FET (instead of 150V) - this was likely a customer request to use a particular FET.
