Hi There,

I designed a system using the BQ34z651 gas gauge which has now become obsolete so I looking to redesign the system to incorporate the BQ40Z50-R1. Before I do so I just want to make sure that I am not picking a part that is going to go obsolete on me in the next couple of years. Do you have an estimate of long long I can safely assume the BQ40z50-R1 will be available?

    hi David,
    NRND means Not Recommended for New Designs. Means we are directing our customers towards newer devices. bq34z651 is NRND.
    It doesn’t prevent customers from ordering NRND devices for their existing projects.
    NRND doesn’t mean that the parts are obsolete or going to be made obsolete.
    We usually do not make parts obsolete especially as customers keep buying them.

    Referring to bq40z50-R1, there is no plan to make it obsolete.
