Charging lithium polymer battery

Hi Team,

I am working on power bank kind of a project.

I have 9000mAh battery, having a discharge rate 2C. I need to charge the battery at 1C (9Amps).

can you suggest me a best solution with reference design from T.I. so that batteries have to be charged as fast as possible

For such high charge and discharge current, I would think we have to use an external FET charging solution. What is the charger input voltage and current range?

Hey Devansh,

Just to add to Wang's comment:

Consider the following EVM: www.ti.com/.../bq25910evm-854

This design would utilize a dual charger configuration, one master and one slave that together could supply your 1C charge rate. A host controller would be needed for this. As far as discharge current of 2C, I agree with Wang. You would likely need an external FET or alternatively, you can connect your system load directly to the battery, circumventing the power path of the charger.

Charger input voltage = 5v and current range is 9-10Amps.
