LM25085: LM25085 as a supercap charger

Part Number: LM25085
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5085,

I´m thinking to use the buck controller LM25085 as a simple supercap charger (fixed charging current of 1Amp). My supercap bank is composed of 4 x 2.7V/50F supercaps in series, that´s the max voltages must be 10.8V. My input voltage is  DC  source of +12V. This buck controller could be connected to an external current limit (through the PMOS rdson or through an external resistance). From my understanding, if a supercap bank is connected at the output of this controller, the charging current of the supercap bank would be the selected current limit. Except the limitation of having a single charging current, I don´t see any other issue in order to implement such supercap charger based on the LM25085/LM5085. Has somebody used the LM25085/LM5085 as a supercap charger? Any feedback about this proposal?
