UCC28070: Transient response issue

Part Number: UCC28070

Dear TI engineer:

   My customer use UCC28070,  AC220V to DC380V, output is about 140W,  outout current 0-0.3A, the output voltage as below:

   The voltage from drop to up is about 100ms, drop range is about 50V. Dose this transient response performance OK? How to improve it?

  Thanks!

  • Hello Eric,
    Can you verify your test is:
    Vin= 220Vac
    Vout = 380Vdc
    Load Step : no load to 0.3A

    Is this correct ?
    With a 50Hz input AC, you should expect to get a bandwidth of about 1/10 times the rectified AC signal. This is about 100mS.
    100mS is the response time of your controller. So I think this looks good and stable.
    If you wish to lower the voltage dip from 50V you could try increasing the output capacitance.

    Regards
    John
