BQ24100: Status Indication Pins (STAT1 , STAT2) Output Issue

Hello Everyone,

As we are using BQ24100 for our battery management.

1) STAT1 and STAT2 are both indicating high(1.1 Volt) while charging.

2) While charging STAT2 goes high STAT1 will be low.

Please suggest what might be issue?

Hi Sanath,

Both conditions happen while charging? Is there no mode transition between case 1 and case 2? What is the BAT pin voltage at each case?

Please provide schematic if possible, maybe we can root cause from there.

Hello Steven,

Please see attached file with schematics.

When i observe while charging at STAT1 and STAT2 both will be 1.4 volts.

There is no more transition .Even i checked with other IC's but same result.

Sanath,

There is no pull up on STAT1 and STAT2 (right now they float if STAT1 or STAT2 should be HIGH), they are open drain, so pull down is okay, but you need a resistor for it to pull up to VCC.
