The PoE application works with both PoE supply or AC adapter ( 24V); sometimes, making hot plug of AC adapters, this broke the TPS2378.
The TPS then is hardely broken: or overheat when powered from PoE and give just 8V out, or is visibily broken on the case.
I.E. Last time (shown in picture) the TPS broke hot connecting a Traco +24Vdc AC Adapter with nothing connected to Ethernet Port (no PoE, no Data).
Seems that sometimes, applying +24Vdc from AC Adapter (maybe with some burst due to hot-connection) and TPS unpowered from PoE, damage/broke the TPS MOS....
My schematics and application seems correct related to your DataSheet (I can send you the schematic in private form ?).
I need help for the application.
P.S. The T2P LED is also lit-on when device is powered from AC adapter alone.
