We used two BQ76930 to monitor 18 pairs os cells. In order to control the two ICs we used a STM32f4 microcontroller. We were able to read all the voltages and balance each one of the cells individually , but when we tried to balance all 18 cells , the IC started to balance all the cells but then stops to balance them . Any idea why this happen? When we tried to balance non adjacent cells ( like the first , third ,fifth ... ) it worked . We also tried to balance just adjacent cells ( first and second, or second and third ) , it did not work as intended. When this happen, the IC does not enter ship mode and keeps fully functional, we can still read all 18 cell voltages.
