    Hi Darren,

    Thanks for your interest in UCC28056. This device is able to operate as a traditional transition mode boost controller with a DC input voltage. Please keep in mind that DC input is outside the typical use case of this device. Many of the features on this controller are tailored for a rectified AC input and good power factor correction which wouldn't be applicable to a DC input.
