Part Number: TPS23754
Hi
The customer designed active clamp forward circuit using TPS23754.
However, they are facing problem that Qmain FET is damaged with short condition while operation.
(It seems to have thermal damage)
Clamping capacitor is 250V rating and FET has 150Vds rating also.
So I want to confirm the cause of device damage and avoid it.
1.
Is there possibility of damaging Qmain FET if the magnetic inductance of transformer is large?
2.
Is there possibility of damaging Qmain FET if deadtime of TPS 23754 is not tuned on customer design properly?
3.
If answer for 2 is yes, is it reasonable to change RDT properly for workaround?
4.
Could you please point out the other possibility that Qmain FET would have damage thermally.
BestRegards
