TPIC6595: IC DAMAGE

Would you please provide more info about this?

Is the Vcc shorted to GND?

Anything changed before and after the demage?

Please also provide your schematic and layout for reference.

this is the layout , i m working on.. the ic works for sometimes responses according to its working but after some time the VCC and GND pin get shorted .And ic began to heat up drastically... as other part like atmel mcu and other parts are working fine only these ic getting shorted.. i have blown 7-8 ic till nw.. and i am unable to find the issue

We don't see this failure before.

Since you have B3-B6, four devices on the board, are the demaged ones on the same position?

If so, how about removing it and test the board again?

Another question, how is your power up sequence for 5V Vcc and 24V Vled?

my 5 v vcc is generated by lm2576 ic, and 24v is generated by using an external smps supply...
