LMR16010: Datasheet Curve Test

Part Number: LMR16010

1.For the Figure 8 Dropout Curve in the datasheet, I did not observe the turning point when Io=0.2A at Vin=5.2V. What is the reason that the dropout curve with Io=0.2A takes a lead to Io=0.05A at nearly Vin=5.2V?

2.For the Figure 5 load regulation, what is the reason that there is an up and down trend, is this because Sleep mode-->DCM mode-->CCM mode, then brings into this waveform?

  • Hi Gene,

Here are the answer for the questions:

    1) I checked this in the lab and I think the 0.02A result should have a better result compared to the 0.2A result. The graph on the datasheet is probably related to the resolution points on the sweep when the data was taken. Therefore the voltage drop on the 0.02A should always be less compared to the 0.2A during dropout.

    2) I also checked this in the lab and the output voltage does increased slightly when you sweep the load across and yes it does relate to the transition from Sleep mode to DCM and CCM mode.

    Thanks
