TPS62140A: OCP behavior

Part Number: TPS62140A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62147

Hello,

I'm using TPS62140A on my non-isolated DCDC converter design and found a strange waveform while performing OCP test.

I found the Vout was bouncing and got some reverse current on Iout though it was clamped at 1.6A, is it a normal waveform?

Vin = 12V

Vput = 1.8V

Fsw = 1.25MHz

Lo = 3.3uH

Cout = 47uF * 2 (MLCC)

  • Hi Stan,

    It's not clear what is wrong with this waveform. You likely have an electronic load and a long length of cable from the output to the load. This inductance and active load can create all sorts of waveforms.

    As well, we have the newer TPS62147 which is smaller, more accurate, and with more features.
