TPS752: TPS75201 Dissipation Ratings

Can you verify that the dissipation ratings are correctly shown in the data sheet (page 3 top)?

It seems that the thermal dissipation for the High-K board seems to be correct, but I am not exactly sure how to understand that as the temperature increases that the energy dissipated seems to be going down. Can you explain?

I am sure that I am simply missing something. I am sure that there is an explanation.

Hi Richard,

The table is correct. The columns labeled Ta < 25C, Ta = 70 C, and Ta = 85 C are telling you the maximum amount of power that the LDO can dissipate while remaining within the Operating junction temperature range (-40 to 125 C). As the ambient temperature increases, the amount of power that you can dissipate while the junction temperature remains below 125 C decreases.

The amount of power that the LDO dissipates in your application will be equal to (Vin - Vout) x Iout).

There is an issue with the Table. The units in the Ta < 25C should be W. They are listed ar mW and this would not be correct. Can we change this?
