hello, I have some 2 volt lead-aid battery, for charge bq34z100-g1 is apporprite but i didn't find IC that balance serie batteries. bq77930 suggested in bq34z100-g1datasheet but this IC is for Li-Ion.I think LTC3305 is apporpriate but this one is for 12 volt battery.also bq34z100-g1 is for 3v to 65v battery and my batteries is 2 volt Is it ok?
Can I use ICs for Li-Ion for Lead acid battery for charging and for balancing?
can help me find 2Volt IC for charging and balancing lead acid(PbA)?

Hi Ehsan,

The bq34z100-G1 can support 2 cell lead acid batteries as a host or pack side gauge, provided supply voltage requirements are met (2.7 V- 4.5 V for normal operation, 2.45 V - 2.7 V for RAM updates, but no writes to dataflash), but does not support cell balancing. Protectors, such as the bq77930 are set up for Li-Ion and will not work with lead acid chemistries.

Hi Bryan, thank you for attention, but I need charging& balancer ic for 2 volt lead acid, I think now that bq34z100-g1 don't support charging 2 volt lead acid battery. Is it true?

Hi Ehsan,

The bq34z100-G1 is a battery gauge and uses the Impedance Track algorithm to determine battery state of charge. It can be used to monitor battery state of charge and detect charge termination, however, this device does not include a charger built in.
