TPS24750: Does this part only respond to over current during startup?

I was looking at this part to be used as a full-featured eFuse. All looks good but the parametric feature list appears to state that overcurrent protection is only active during startup. The datasheet does not appear to be explicit about this (not that I have found so far)

Is this device always protecting from currents over the programmed limit?

    Hi Carlos,

    Thanks for reaching us on E2E. Can you share your system specifications, application use case and end product details.

    TPS24750 provides over current protection always.. After startup, currents above the user-selected limit will be allowed to flow until programmed timeout – except in extreme overload events where the load is immediately disconnected from the source.
    Please refer Section "9.4.4 Circuit Breaker and Fast Trip" in the datasheet and associated test waveforms for Over current and short circuit response.
