    Hello Ronald,

    The SS pin in effect reduces the reference voltage when it is less than the reference voltage. The effective reference voltage is the lesser of:

    1) The reference voltage
    2) The SS pin
    3) An internal 1 ms SS ramp

    Since this pin operates on the reference side of the error amplifier, neither statement 1 nor statement 2 is correct.
