UCC28063: About OVP operation of ucc28063

Part Number: UCC28063

When OVP is in operation state, what is the state of ucc 28063?
Is there an upper threshold for the OVP operating voltage?
If there is an upper limit threshold and the OVP operation state continues in that situation, is there a problem with the state of ucc 28063?
Also,If there is an upper limit threshold, and what exceeds it, what happens to ucc 28063?
Thank you for your answer.

  • Hi Michifuji-san,

Thanks for your interest in UCC28063. When this device senses an overvoltage condition from either the HVSEN or VSENSE pin, the controller shuts off. If an overvoltage condition persists and either HVSEN or VSENSE remains above their OVP detection threshold, the controller does not resume switching. Only when both HVSEN and VSENSE are both below the OVP threshold will the controller resume operation.

Equations 30 and 55 in the datasheet explain how to set the overvoltage protection levels for HVSEN and VSENSE pins. Please let me know if this satisfies your inquiry.

    Best Regards,
    Ben Lough
