Hello,

We are in the process of upgrading an old design around the bq20z80 to the bq40z50-R2. The chemical profile for the cell we are using exists for the bq20z80 and other older devices; however, I am unable to find the chemistry profile for this cell when trying to update the bq40z50R2.

Hi Joseph,

If you send 0x0008 to 0x00 command, then it will return chemID informaiton.

Thanks for your reply Jasper. However, I am aware how to read the current chem ID.
My issue is that for let's say I'm using cell XX with chem ID yyy with the bq20z80. A unique chemistry profile exists for that cell for the bq20z80 that can be used to update the chemistry profile in the device from its default chem ID.
However, when I upgraded the electronics of the battery pack to the bq40z50R2 and download the latest chemistry profiles, the chemical ID for that cell X, with chem IDyyy, is no longer available. A chemistry profile for that cell does not exist for the newer Impedance-Track part, and I would like to know why.

What is your chemID number ? I guess your chemID doesn't support Turbo mode2 and it is not listed at chemistry programming in bqStudio.
We added the option to show non Turbo mode 2 chem ID in new bqStudio but it is not released yet since we are validating new bqStudio.
If you send me your .srec file or gg.csv file, let me update your chemID based on your DF configuration and send it back to you.

We have used Chem ID 0401 with the bq40z50-R1 and have a new application where we'd like to use the same cells with the bq40z50-R2. However Chem ID 0401 does not appear in bqStudio with the bq40z50-R2. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Let me create the ID0401 .srec file and post it. There are two 0401 in chemID list. Do you know which one you used ?

We are using the K2 LFP26650P but may instead want to use 0402 with LFP26650EV

Hi,

Current bqStudio version doesn't support non-Turbo mode chemID. So, I have to create the .srec file based on database.
