The battery will be rated at ~4300mAhr 

I will be using the TPS65986

For the battery we would need a part like:  bq25895 .  It would provide charging of the battery in sink mode and a boosted 5V output for source mode.  If you have a alternate recommendation to the bq25895, please advise.

    Laura,

    bq25895 is a great choice.  Just curious how you plan to connect the D+/D- pins on the bq25895?  Also, to charge at 4.3A, you will need at least VBUS=7V.  The IC will get very hot unless you connect the chip's power pad to a large heat sink (internal ground plans or bottom ground plane).
