I have two questions as below

1. Does TPIC6273 have "short protection" function?

2. If the output of TPIC6273 connects to GND or short, will it be damaged?

Hi,

It doesn't have short protection.

If connecting to GND, there is no problem, and if short to Vled, considering about the resistor you add, the IC will demage if any DRAIN current exceeds 250mA.

Do you have any suggestion for the over current protect on DRAIN? The output of TPIC6273 is open drain structure, the resistor will be added by our customer not in the PCBA. So we need to have a protection function on DRAIN.
