TPS62160-Q1: TPS62160QDSGRQ1 used in ISO 26262 application

Part Number: TPS62160-Q1

Dear TI,

We are using the TPS62160QDSGRQ1 step-down converter for supply to the Hercules  uC core. The TPS62160QDSGRQ1 is automotive qualified, but not ISO26262, is there a set of failure modes/distribution and a FIT TI recommends for this or do you recommend some other approach?

Best regards / Med venlig hilsen

  • Tor,

as you already figured out TPS62160-Q1 has not been developed to support safety level calculations for ISO26262 in detail. You may be able to use the FIT rates you can find in the product folder on the web (section Quality and Packaging) for your calculations. This data is for the complete device only and does not describe failure modes and their specific failure rates.

    Best regards,
    Juergen
