WEBENCH® Tools/TPS82084: Finer Time Scale needed

Part Number: TPS82084
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Dear Webench team,

The customer who created this online schematic wanted to test a refresh cycle down to about 7.8us, but has said that Webench only allows him to go down to 330us. See below:

“This buck 1V2 will be use for the POL of DDR4 4Gb (256Mb x16). The DDR4 are very demanding on load transient on the refresh cycle (50mA avg to peak 250mA). The refresh cycle period is 260ns.

I would like to do some simulation on the Webench with this type of refresh cycle vs load transient (period 260ns, 50mA T0+130ns, 250mA T130ns+130ns). Can this short period of cycle can be done on Webench? I did try but is limit to period of only 300us.”

Is this a limitation in the software? Are we able to get more granular on the time axis, or does Webench limit to 300us?

  • Hi Andrews,

Currently we do not support such a small period on Webench for simulations.

Alternatively you can export the design to TINA-TI tool and change load as per your requirement.

Please follow the below step to download TINA-TI .TSC file.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

    Thanks,

    Kiran Kumar
